The sound that exists in the present moment, when reproduced, is completely deformed in our consciousness, repeating reversely. A conditional sound illusion is created, our brain perceives the audible as a completely new sound, which has nothing to do with the original one, at the same time, the viewer has the opportunity to experience from his own experience that this is not so. The difference between what was heard and what is expected makes it possible to experience an empirical personal experience during some artistic experiment.

The presented object is intended for a hypothetically possible performance “Speculum”, of which it is a part. Technically, the system is a hardware-software complex that performs audio recording while the button is pressed, and when the button is released, reverse playback of the recorded fragment begins.
